Located in the city of Delray Beach, Delray Municipal Beach - also known as Delray Public Beach and Delray Beach Municipal Beach - is a popular large and clean white-sand beach with nearby palm trees. Many kinds of plants are also present around Delray Municipal Beach including beach stars, necklace pods, and sea grapes. Delray Municipal Beach was named the 22nd Best Beach in the Top 50 Beaches in the United States list in 2022 by Randall Kaplan, the world's foremost beach expert who is known as "Mr. Beach.” This one-and-a-half-mile-long beach was listed by Travel Holiday magazine as one of the top beaches in the South-eastern United States.
Amenities
Lifeguards are deployed on Delray Municipal Beach on a seasonal basis. Currently, lifeguards are deployed on this beach from 9 am to 5 pm between September 25, 2021 and March 11, 2022. Delray Beach also has many other amenities including beach chair and cabana rental facilities, a pavilion, volleyball courts, sailboat storage facilities. Dogs are not allowed in Delray Municipal Beach.

The southern end of Delray Municipal Beach occasionally offers amazing surfing waves, making this beach popular with surfers. The clear water near Delray Municipal Beach is also popular among snorkelers and scuba divers, who enter the water here to explore its vibrant underwater landscape and biodiversity. The remains of a sunken ship named the S.S. Inchulva are present 500 meters away from the beach shoreline - this shipwreck is a popular snorkeling spot. Depending on the time of the year, you can view many kinds of animals in the water near Delray Municipal Beach including sea turtles and many kinds of fish. Sea turtles also use Delray Municipal Beach as a seasonal nesting spot. However, if you are planning to enter the water near Delray Municipal Beach, please note that the local authorities have designated separate specific parts of the water near the beach for different recreational water activities. In addition, paddleboarders are only permitted to launch their paddleboards from the southern and the northern ends of the beach. Parking
Getting to Delray Municipal Beach is easy - the northern end of the beach is present near the intersection between East Atlantic Avenue (which is a part of Florida State Road 806) and Florida State Road A1A. Metered parking spaces are also present along Florida State Road A1A. However, we recommend visiting this beach early as the parking spots near this popular beach often fill up quickly.

There are many attractions near Delray Municipal Beach. Sandoway Discovery Center has interesting exhibitions that offer an interesting insight into the vibrant marine and freshwater habitats of South Florida. The center is set in a 1936 house - this house is a part of the United States National Register of Historic Places. The center also offers interesting educational programs including animal feeding programs, beach clean-up sessions, and a shark-themed festival. Cason Cottage House Museum has interesting exhibits on local history and lifestyle and Southern Floridian culture and architecture. The museum’s exhibits focus on the two decades between 1915 and 1935 and it is open between November and April. The museum offers guided tours of its premises between 11 am and 3 pm on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
