Located in the city of Ione, Lake Amador Resort has a small and narrow beach situated on the shores of Carson Creek and is a great spot for fishing and camping.  Lake Amador Resort offers many amenities including restrooms, showers, boat ramps, picnic tables, a fishing pier, and a disc golf course. There are many fun activities at Lake Amador Resort including swimming, fishing, camping, boating, jet-skiing, and sailing. Getting to Lake Amador Resort is easy – after you get off of Jackson Valley Road, drive down to 7500 Lake Amador Drive to reach a free parking lot that provides easy access to the beach.

If you are looking for attractions near Lake Amador Resort, you can drive 18 minutes to Amador County Museum that features many exhibitions including a Gold History Exhibit, Dressed to the Nines – a fashion history exhibit, Native American collection, Chinese American collection, and an old-fashioned schoolroom. If you like hiking, Kennedy Tailing Wheels Park offers a two-mile-long hike and is a great spot for picnicking.  Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park is home to many birds and animals including turkey vultures, hairy woodpeckers, northern flickers, Anna’s hummingbirds, deer, fox, coyote, black-tailed jackrabbits, and you can also see a mountain lion and black bear occasionally.  Another great attraction near Lake Amador Resort is Kennedy Gold Mine, one of the deepest gold mines in the world – it is a fun tourist attraction and provides tours and a gift shop.
