Overview

Located in the suburb of Manly, North Steyne Beach also called Manly Beach North Steyne Beach and Ocean Beach is an east-facing curve-shaped beach with light brown sand.  This beach is a part of a larger beach named Manly Beach.  

Amenities

North Steyne Beach offers lifeguards during summer weekends.  In addition to lifeguards, this beach has many other amenities including restrooms, a playground, a nearby promenade, volleyball nets, showers, changing rooms, nearby grassy recreational areas, and nearby surfboard rental facilities.   

Dogs are not allowed here.



Activities

North Steyne Beach offers many fun activities including sunbathing, fishing, beachcombing, picnicking, swimming, beach volleyball, surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, boating, paddleboarding, jet-skiing, snorkeling, scuba diving, parasailing, wakeboarding, bodysurfing, bodyboarding, water-skiing, kayaking, canoeing, and wildlife watching.  

This beach is ideal for surfers because the water here offers fun surfing waves and the North Steyne surfline is amazing.  You can check the North Steyne Surf Cam online to see the amazing waves here if you are planning to surf here, we recommend checking the North Steyne Surf Report online for getting an insight into the current wave patterns. 

A local club named North Steyne Surf Lifesaving Club also called North Steyne Surf Club also offers paddling lessons at North Steyne Beach.

If you are planning to swim, kayak, paddleboard, or surf here, we recommend being careful because the water here is known to have unpredictable rip currents and dangerous waves.  In addition, sharks have also been reported near this beach.  There is also a nearby stormwater drain that sometimes pollutes the water here with microbial contaminants. 

If you like taking pictures with excellent views, this beach offers amazing views of the Pacific Ocean and the East Sydney shoreline the best time to take pictures here is during the evening Steyne North Beach hours.

Disability Access

Although North Steyne Beach does not offer wheelchair access to visitors with disabilities, there is a disabled-friendly playground near the beach.

Getting to North Steyne Beach is easy this beach is located along a road named North Steyne.  There are multiple free and paid parking spaces near North Steyne Road Manly.  

We recommend visiting North Steyne Beach early during summers because this beach can get crowded during this time.

There are many attractions near North Steyne Beach.  Cabbage Tree Bay Aquatic Reserve is a wildlife reserve that offers many fun activities including swimming, snorkeling, wildlife watching, and photography.  This aquatic reserve has a vibrant marine biodiversity and you can see many kinds of animals here including turtles, groupers, and cuttlefish.  North Head is a headland that offers many fun activities including hiking, scuba diving, swimming, wildlife watching, and picnicking.  This site has many interesting historic structures including remnants of a fort named North Fort and a historic quarantine station it also has multiple beaches including Quarantine Beach, Store Beach, and Collins Flat BeachIvanhoe Park is a recreational park that offers interesting botanic gardens, grassy recreational areas, tennis courts, and a tram corridor.  North Harbour Reserve is a waterfront reserve that offers many amenities including a basketball court, public toilets, a concrete path, a playground, sitting areas, drinking water facilities, and barbecue areas.  If you are looking for another attraction near the beach, Manly Markets is a market that is held on weekends that offers many interesting novelties including vintage clothes, artworks, and jewelry.

If you get hungry, there are many great restaurants near North Steyne Beach.  Hemingway’s Manly is a French bistro that offers amazing French-inspired dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner including eggs, petit sale aux lentilles, ratatouille, and boeuf bourguignon.  Hugos Manly is an upscale restaurant that offers amazing Italian and Mediterranean-inspired food including seafood, pastas, steaks, chicken dishes, and meatballs.  The Pantry Manly offers many amazing dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner including seafood, eggs, pancakes, pastas, lamb, and duck leg.  Chica Bonita offers amazing Mexican-style dishes including tacos, tostadas, ceviches, burritos, and ensaladas.  If you are looking for another good and affordable nearby restaurant, Rollers Bakehouse is a bakery that offers many amazing sweet and savory baked dishes including granola, eggplant, monkey bread, and pain au chocolat.
